Every day means more data to protect than the last. Double-Take Backup provides the ability to archive less-used data off of the production server to make more room for data being used. The Cargo feature of Double-Take Backup detects files that have not been accessed for a configurable amount of time and archives the file’s contents to the Double-Take Backup repository server. The file remains visible and accessible to users and when a request for the file contents occurs they are seamlessly recalled back to the production server.

Double-Take Backup can also deduplicate your repository server to lower the consumption of disk space in backup operations. The Atom deduplication feature of Double-Take Backup will continually look at files on the repository server to find duplicates and reduce those to a single instance.

Cargo archiving and Atom deduplication are free features of Double-Take Backup.
